"The very first perfumer we know of is mentioned in a Babylonian cuneiform tablet from the second millennium BC. Her name is Tapputi, and interestingly she's a chemist and overseer at the royal palace. So we know she was creating perfumes for the royal family. We also know rose oil and jasmine lay at the heart of her art.
Many of the private scents made for royalty and nobles by the great master perfumers of the golden age of perfume were also created around this almost mystical synthesis of Rose and Jasmine - known in perfumery as the Queen of Flowers. It was said that whoever could combine these in an exact and perfect precision with other ingredients would endow the wearer with magical powers.
In crafting this modern scent, I drew inspiration from this legend, combining beautiful light and airy notes with some deeper tones, all harmonised by the union of Rose and Jasmine that lies at the core of this perfume.
For me the result is real originality of character - an elegant balance of forces suggesting passion and independence, power and innocence."
