Magic of two worlds; a blend of East and West in an entirely new paradigm. Timeless tradition; the plot of an imaginative tale of a Mediterranean summer that embraces the magic of the Maharaja's gardens. Marriage of the senses; from sparkling notes to aesthetic caresses. A noble and gentle soul with a multifaceted and lively vision.
Udaipur, the new eau de parfum, encapulates the primary inspirations of the Etro maison, reinterpretting them through the varied nuances of a fragrance that evokes both summer in the Mediterranean and, as a counterpart, the gardens of a Maharajah, distant in both time and place. It is the bringing together of distant lands, cultures and roots that first drove Gimmo Etro to travel the silk road in search of fine fabrics, and it is this aspiration that has inspired the ethos and creative drive of the house which celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this year. The coming together of two worlds starts with the name: Udaipur, the white city of Rajastan overlooking Lake Pichola, known as the Venice of the East.
Perfectly balanced betwen hot and cold, East and West, masculine and feminine, tradition and modernity.
It begins with the pure and joyful embrace of Sambac jasmine cultivated in India, where its angelic and noble petals represent blessing during nuptial rites, bestowing grace, good luck and romanticism. The effervescent and explosive quality of bergamot imparts to it vivacity and freshness in harmony with pink pepper and magnolia, the other head notes fine-tuned with each other to create a potent yet delicate melange. At its heart, the caress of gardenia and lotus flower accompany the jasmine, completing the refined spirit of the bouquet. At its base, musk and cashmere wood unite with the intensity of patchouli, putting their seal on the exotic accent of this eau de parfum. The result is a well-regulated rhythm between hot and cold, East and West, which adapts to the wearer's character, without distinctions of gender.
