Here, around 5 tons of flowers are required for the extraction of one kilo of pure essence, which currently fetches €5,000 on the world market. The rose essence is obtained by distilling the freshly collected flowers. The flowers are hand-picked in the morning and are processed with the upmost speed in order to avoid fermentation. They are rarely used in current perfumery due to their high cost, but Juliette has nothing but the best and there are around 500 rose heads in every 100ml bottle of Juliette Has a Gun.
