The talented perfumer, Francois Rance, left Grasse where his family had produced perfumed gloves since the early 1600's, and won over Paris with his creations.
He was an enthusiastic follower of Napoleon, and he dedicated many of his perfumes to the emperor, becoming in turn Napoleon's favourite perfumer. He presented Josephine, Napoleon's much loved bride, with a perfume named after her in a refined Sevres porcelain box.
Two generations later, Francois Alexander Rance (Francois' grandson and continuer of the family perfumery business) paid his respects to another imperial bride, this time Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III. This exquisite creation has today been brought back to life by Jeanne Sandra Rance, current inheritor of the family perfume business, who has gone through the family archives to revive this precious gem. Another jewel from the Rance treasure shines once more.
This perfume befitted Empress Eugenie, who won over France with her charm, her smile and her elegance. Only the most refined and delicate essences, for refined women and kind souls and gentle ways; subtle, but a deeply feminine charm, which captures the heart, the mind and the senses.
Eugenie is the exaltation of the grace and charm of a most refined woman: unostentatious, delicate and a penetrating beauty...beauty that conquers.
