This fragrance is the last of the four that make up the “Les Orientalistes” range, created by Camille Goutal as a collection in their own right, and quite unlike the other fragrances in the range. Camille’s mother, Annick Goutal was enchanted by the sophistication of musk devotees, like the Qatar Princesses, that covered their hair and body in a musk and rose blend. A blend that is meant to captivate men. Musk has always been mystical and a must-have ingredient for seduction.
Camille wanted to recreate a sensual, traditional, animal musk, warmly swathed in softness. Musc Nomade therefore invites us on a journey back through time, to days when musk, a highly precious material, was transported from town to town by nomadic caravan processions along the silk road.
Ingredients notes:
Musk has been used in perfumery since ancient times and is one of the most expensive animal products in the world. The name Musk actually encompasses a wide variety of substances with somewhat similar odours although many of them are quite different in their structure. Until the late 19th century, natural musk was used extensively until economic and ethical motives led to the adoption of synthetic musk, which is now used almost exclusively today;
The Muscone used in this scent is the odorous principle of natural musk harnessed via synthesis
White musk is a natural scent stemming from Angelica root and Ambrette seed
Tonka Beans are the seeds of a tree in the Tropics. The seed is black and wrinkled in appearance, with a smooth brown interior. It is known mostly for its fragrance, which is reminiscent of vanilla, almonds, cinnamon and cloves.
Bombay wood is a variety of papyrus
