"The scent of Araby", named after an Arabian springtime festival celebrated in Egypt on the Nile.
Originally created in 1906, this rich, luxurious creation typifies the L’Origan style with its warm, soft, powdery, floral aspect. A scent which personifies the Edwardian era in which femininity was fêted. The current trend for orris comes full circle with the rebirth of Shem-el-Nessim which reprises the original orris formula, using Florentine iris, known for its rarity and expense, and costing three times more than gold bullion.
Shem el Nessim has been described as floral perfume with a very green hyacinth and carnation heart around a soft florentine orris. It also has a soft rose and delicate lily of the valley bouquet. On the skin it dries to a soft powdery and very feminine scent not dissimilar to (but equally forerunner to) the great l'Heure Bleue.
Also available as 100ml Eau de Parfum (£275.00)
