Created in 1970 for Caron by the perfumer Gerard Lefort, Infini was a bold, original and revolutionary aroma based around tuberose, hyacinth and lily of the valley again a backdrop of vetiver and sandalwood. It comes across as a very 'smokey' floral oriental. It has been said that as its launch was during the era of space exploration, the perfume was named "Inifini" to chime with limitlessness of space, while the bottle itself (designed by Serge Mansau) was inspired by the mathematical symbol for infinity. However, an earlier Caron "Infini", produced in 1912 and created by Ernest Daltroff must also have been the scent's inspiration, if only in name. Yet again, this is one Caron's greatest creations.
