Why must I telephone my order? Why not simply 'click to buy'?
Most of the brands that Woodfordes stock are prestige brands where the brand owner/ manufacturer has
expressly forbidden 'web sales' ('click to buy' sales). This is to ensure that their brands are only available from
authorised and approved stockists like Woodfordes.
This is not an attempt by them to restrict competition.
If the only outlets for perfumes were websites, without the backing of retail premises where their products
could be sampled and tried, there would be no future new customers for their products.
Should I beware of other websites selling these brands?
Not necessarily. But you should ensure that websites are backed by actual shops selling the product. A
warehouse on a business park may be sourcing their product through unauthorised channels (called the
'grey market') where out-of-date, bankrupt stock, or even fake products are sourced. Woodfordes, like all
reputable retailers have regular deliveries straight from the perfume house, so you know you are getting
the product in premium condition.
How do you take my order?
You can telephone the shop during opening hours. We endevour to process and dispatch your order the
same day as you telephone. In the unlikely event that an item is out of stock we will advise you
when we expect the item to arrive and when you can expect to receive it. We do not process any payment unless
the goods are actually leaving our premises the same day. We do not take card details for out-of-stock goods.
We will email or telephone you when the goods are in stock.
How much do you charge for delivery?
We only charge an estimate of the actual cost of delivery. Typically, this will be £3.95 for standard
bottle of perfume. It may be less for smaller package, or more if several large bottles are included. We
feel that charging realistic rates benefit all customers over a standard charge where some customers may
be subsidising others. We will advise the cost when your order is taken.
What method of delivery do you use?
Woodfordes sends all its deliveries by second class recorded delivery where a signature is required to
confirm receipt, but we can supply by any method you choose (guaranteed next day delivery for example). We
will still charge you for the actual posting method chosen (a higher cost, obviously, if next day delivery is chosen).
If you chose not to use recorded delivery, this will be at your own risk.
Is all of your range shown on your website?
Our website is small on-line catalogue respresenting the ranges that can be found at our Sidmouth
shop. We have more brands available in our shop. Some perfume houses produce exclusive or ancillary
products that may not appear on our website. If you do not see what you are looking for we welcome
all enquiries. We will endevour to source special items for our customers or answer any query.
